The deal, in plain words

Terms of service

These terms apply when you use thriftr.pro, its app and its website. Updated October 4, 2026. By signing in you agree to them; if you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

The service, and that it’s a beta

Thriftr helps you save the things you find while thrifting, measure art and frames, check what fits where, and keep track of your places and household. It is a free beta: features change, some are limited (the help page lists the current limits), and things can occasionally break. We work to keep your records safe, but a beta is not a finished product, and we don’t promise it will always be available or error-free.

Keep your own backups. Household settings include a records-and-photos backup; download one whenever your collection changes in ways you’d hate to lose.

Your account and your household

You sign in with Google or an email code. You’re responsible for keeping access to that account to yourself and for what happens under it. You must be at least 16 to use Thriftr.

A household is a shared collection of at most two accounts. Everything in it (finds, photos, places, notes, wishes, badges) is visible to both members, and either can change or delete it. Only invite someone you trust with all of it. Removing a member stops their access from then on; it can’t take back what they already saw or downloaded.

Your finds stay yours

You own the photos, notes and other content you save. To run the service we need your permission to store it, show it to your household, make copies for backups and offline use, and process it the ways you ask for (for example, sending resized photos for an AI read). You give us that permission for as long as the content is in your collection, and we use it for nothing else. Private collections are never used for marketing or shown publicly.

Save only what you have the right to save. Don’t upload other people’s private information, and don’t use the service for anything unlawful.

Photo reads and fit checks are estimates

Quick and Detailed reads, suggested details, value notes and fit answers are produced by software, partly by AI models from OpenAI. They can be wrong. Treat a value estimate as a starting point, not an appraisal, and measure before you buy, cut a mat or alter a frame. Reads cost us money, so each household has an allowance, shown under You.

Fair use

Please don’t try to get at other households’ data, overload the service, work around allowances or limits, scrape the site, or use automated accounts. We may slow down, suspend or close accounts that do, and we may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

Money

The beta is free. No card is asked for and nothing is charged. If paid plans arrive, we’ll say what they cost and what they include before anyone pays, and these terms will be updated first.

Keeping, exporting and deleting

You can export your household’s records and photos at any time from household settings. Deleting a find moves it to Recently deleted, from where it can be restored or removed for good. To close an account or delete a household during the beta, contact us (below) and we’ll do it for you. How information is stored, who processes it and for how long is described in Privacy & your collection.

Changes, and how this ends

We may change these terms. If a change matters, we’ll say so in the app or by email before it takes effect; using the service after that means you accept it. We may change or retire features, and we may end the beta. If we do, we’ll give you time to export your collection.

You can stop using Thriftr at any time. Signing out clears this device’s copies; ask us to delete your account to remove the rest.

What we don’t promise

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We aren’t responsible for purchases you make, frames you cut, or losses that follow from an estimate being wrong, from the service being unavailable, or from content you or your household member saved. Where the law allows us to limit liability, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the year before the claim, which during the free beta is nothing. Nothing here limits rights that the law says can’t be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws that apply where thriftr.pro’s operator is based. If part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
